UPDATE: Alright it took several hours, but The Little Server That Could has worked through the queue and it's down to just a few hundred profiles left to import.

Not a bad clearing rate once you dial in the settings.

So, sidekiq was extremely resource limited in the default Mastodon installation - I ended up with 24,000 tasks in the ingress+pull queue this morning.

Increased threads/processes so that it'll connect to the database more - the server ate through ingress quickly and it's just the pull queue remaining.

I also added a blocklist of common hateful/spammy instances. I'm working on refining it as I discover more #fediverse content

lsbt.me hat sich als Anlaufstelle für LGBTIQ+ Menschen und Allies etabliert. Mittlerweile nutzen 356 Personen diese Plattform als digitalen Raum, in dem queere Identitäten selbstverständlich sind und respektiert werden.

Solche Räume entstehen nicht von selbst und erhalten sich auch nicht ohne Aufwand. Die technische Infrastruktur erfordert dedizierte Server mit ausreichend Kapazität, professionelle Backups und kontinuierliche Wartung. Drüben bei Meta wurde ich eben daran erinnert, dass ich heute vor vier Jahren angefixt wurde mit einem Bakfiets #carryshitolympics zu betreiben. Ein halbes Jahr später hat sich das Business meiner Frau dann eines angeschafft das ich auch nutzen darf und inzwischen hat das Rad mehr als 5000 km runter.

Gibt's eigentlich so eine Erinnerungsfunktion für "erfolgreichere" Tröts auch hier im #Fediverse? Das vermisse ich hier schon.
